Maine Maritime's Ila Smith (Lexington, Ky.) has been named the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Volleyball Rookie of the Week.
Smith had a big week for the Mariners against three non-conference opponents; Colby, Brandeis, and Bowdoin College. The first-year recorded five kills and one assist in the Maine Maritime win against Colby on Tuesday evening. Smith then had 11 kills, six digs, and three blocks against Brandeis on Saturday afternoon, then followed up against Bowdoin College the same day with two kills and one dig.
