Maine Maritime Academy Mariners Fall to Polar Bears

Maine Maritime men's soccer falls to Bowdoin College, 5-0 in a non-conference matchup on Monday night.

How it Happened: The Polar Bears struck early, scoring in the ninth minute to set the tone for the rest of the match. Bowdoin scored four more goals against the Mariners, winning the match 5-0.

Inside the Numbers:

  • Bowdoin held a 22-2 advantage in shots and a 12-3 edge in corner kicks over the Mariners.
  • Five different players scored for the Polar Bears.
  • Maxwell Tomlin (Monroe, Maine) and Trevor Gray (Gorham, Maine) split time in net, recording six and five saves respectively.
Up Next: Maine Maritime falls to 2-5 overall, while Bowdoin improves to 5-0. The Mariners return to action this weekend, Saturday, September 24 at 1:00pm when they host Cazenovia College in a conference matchup.
