Mariners volleyball's Rachel Melampy (Duxbury, Mass.) has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Region 1 DIII All-Region Team and as an Honorable Mention All-American.
Melampy had an impressive senior campaign for the Mariners, earning North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Year, NAC First Team, and NEWVA Second Team All-New England Postseason Honors. She led her team to a NAC Championship, being named the tournament MVP. She totaled 381 kills on the year, hitting .339. She also added 276 digs, 32 aces, 16 assists, and 13 blocks on the year. Melampy also ranked ninth in the country in kills per set with 4.33 k/s.
