Maine Maritime's Joanna Howard (Eliot, Maine) has been named to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team.
Howard, a Marine Systems Engineering major, appeared in four races for the Mariners this season. Howard posted her best finish in the UMaine-Presque Isle Invitational with a time of 22:33.76 on the 4K course, placing ninth. The NAC Women's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team is reserved for those who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior. The honorees positively affect the women's cross country culture and match environment by clearly demonstrating sportsmanship and integrity beyond the sport playing rules and etiquette.
