Maine Maritime Academy Advance to NAC Championship

#1 Maine Maritime volleyball conquered the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division with a  3-1 (25-17, 20-25, 25-14, 25-22) victory over #2 Husson University to claim the NAC East Division title on Sunday afternoon. The Mariners will travel to New York next weekend for the NAC Championship game.

How it Happened: The match was extremely competitive from the start, with a ton of back-and-forth action. In the first set, the Mariners strung together a couple small runs that quickly added up to a 25-17 win. The second set shifted to the Eagles, who tallied a couple small runs late in the set to claim a 25-20 victory. Maine Maritime used that loss as motivation, dominating the Husson in the third set, 25-14. In the fourth set, the Mariners had a 22-13 lead, before the Eagles went on a seven-point run to make the score 22-20. The run put pressure on the Mariners, but they didn't crack, claiming a 3-1 victory to head to the NAC Championship.
