University of Maine at Augusta college instructor Ed Rice donates $54 to Bernard Sanders' campaign

Ed Rice, a college instructor at University of Maine at Augusta, donated $54 to Democratic Party candidate Bernard Sanders, according to the Federal Election Commission.

According to records, there have been $2,331 in campaign contributions made by individuals affiliated with University of Maine at Augusta as of November 3. All of these contributions were made to Democratic Party candidates and committees.

Lynn Twitchell's contribution of $850 to Democratic Party Betsy Sweet was the largest contribution made by someone affiliated with University of Maine at Augusta since January 1, 2019.

According to an Inside Higher Ed analysis of federal elections data, individuals that were affiliated with colleges and universities have donated five times more money to Joe Biden than to President Trump. A study by Pew Research in 2017 found that 58 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents thought colleges and universities have a negative impact on the way things are going in this country.
