A phlebotomy technician is an integral member of the medical laboratory team whose primary function is the collection of blood samples from patients by venipuncture or dermal puncture. At WCCC, students participate in a hands-on phlebotomy internship that provides practical phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting where students will be required to complete 100 venipunctures and 5 dermal punctures at the clinical site and record a minimum of 80 clinical hours.
