Brian Beal is a Jonesport, Maine native, UMaine Machias professor, and director of research at Downeast Institute (DEI) on Beals Island, Maine. DEI is the Marine Science Field Station for the University of Maine at Machias. Recently, UMaine research has shared how Brian Beal and the team at DEI are helping Downeast Maine’s marine ecosystem.
