Census Bureau: 82.9% of people in Hancock County were old enough to vote in 2021

Of the 55,417 citizens living in Hancock County in 2021, 82.9% were old enough to vote, equating to 45,946 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 22,148 were male, constituting 48.2%, and 23,798 were female, making up 51.8%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Hancock County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 81.2%.
