Melinda Reynolds/New Coordinator of Apprenticeship | Washington County Community College
Washington County Community College would like to introduce Melinda Reynolds to the Workforce Team as the new Coordinator of Apprenticeship.
Reynolds joins WCCC staff with lots of experience. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and has worked in public schools for 30 years as a teacher in grades Pre-K through 6.
“I earned my master’s degree in educational administration in 2015 and subsequently served as the Pre-K coordinator in MSAD #37 throughout our Department of Education Pre-K expansion grant,” said Reynolds. “I enjoyed the work around managing the Pre-K grant, particularly getting out of my own classroom, and working with other Pre-K teachers and their students. Teaching is a very rewarding profession.”
When she came across the advertisement for the Coordinator of Apprenticeship Programs, she was intrigued.
As she read the job description, it appealed to her greatly. She quickly became interested in the opportunities the Department of Labor Apprenticeship Grant offers for students.
“I am so pleased to have the opportunity to increase educational outcomes for students at WCCC and am excited to transition into a position that allows me to work closely with our community partners to achieve those goals. Everyone at WCCC has made me feel welcome, and I am looking forward to being a part of the amazing Workforce Team that is creating new and unique opportunities for our students,” she said.
Reynolds is thrilled to become a part of the Workforce Team at WCCC as they initiate new and expanding programs.
Reynolds lives in Addison with her husband, their dog Rusty, and their two cats. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her son, two daughters, and her grandson. She also likes to go camping, play the guitar and sing. She has even volunteered to play music during holiday celebrations.
