On Tuesday at the Hancock County Commissioners Meeting, Sheriff Scott Kane recognized several people for their heroic actions over the past couple of years.

Richard Leighton and Malcolm Perry were recognized for their bravery when they pulled a Father and his four year old Daughter out of a burning vehicle involved in a head on collision back in 2020.  Both the Father and daughter were in attendance at the Commissioners meeting as well.

Also recognized were Timothy Terry, David Terry, Jayne Snowdale, Deputy Travis Frost and Chief Deputy Corey Bagley who were all involved in saving an individual’s life who was attempting to jump off the Penobscot Narrows Bridge earlier this year.  The collaborative actions of the group, led to the individual being pulled to safety.

Thank you to all those involved for your life-saving actions.
