Maine Maritime women’s basketball beat Norwich University 92-55 in a non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon. Lauren Plissey (Hermon, Maine) tallied a season-high 18 points for the Mariners, becoming the tenth Maine Maritime women’s basketball player to surpass 1,000 career points.
How it Happened: After a couple minutes of back-and-forth action, Maine Maritime dominated the first quarter, scoring 19 straight points to end the first with a score of 32-8. The second quarter was more of the same action, with the Mariners a taking a 48-17 lead going into the half.
The second half was more competitive, but the Mariners build enough of a cushion in the first half to walk away with a 92-55 victory.
