Curt Heinz (Stuttgart, Germany) tallied a double-double for Maine Maritime men’s basketball in a 51-80 loss to Bowdoin College.
How it Happened: The Polar Bears jumped to a quick seven point start on the Mariners, before Maine Maritime crawled back into the game, taking a three point lead with 10 minutes left in the first half. The rest of the half had a lot of back-and-forth action with Bowdoin taking a four point lead going into the half.
Bowdoin had a great second half, outscoring the Mariners by 25 points to extend their lead and claim a 51-80 victory.
Inside the Numbers:
- Heinz tallied a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds, along with two blocks.
- Josiah Dancy (Orlando, Fla.) and Omar Chambers (Springfield, Virginia) both added seven points to the mix.
- James McGowan recorded 21 points for the Polar Bears.
- The Mariners shot 28.3% from the hardwood and 4.5% from beyond the arc, while Bowdoin College shot 47% from the floor and 43.8% from three point land.
