Maine Maritime falls to Connecticut College, 46-50 in the first matchup of the Naples Classic.

How it Happened: The Camels got off to a quick start, going on a 7-0 run against Maine Maritime. The Mariners responded in the seventh minute with a three from Maria Barela (Albuquerque, N.M.) and ended the period with a score of 10-18 in favor of the Camels. The Mariners continued plugging away at Connecticut’s lead, holding them to eight points and going into halftime down by seven points.

The Mariners dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Camels 20-7 to make the score 39-33 in favor of the Mariners. Connecticut College bounced back in the fourth quarter to close out the game, claiming a 50-46 victory.
