Maine Maritime opens up the weekend with a 79-60 conference win against SUNY Poly. Maria Barela (Albuquerque, N.M.) hit a game-high 23 points, along with six rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

How it Happened: The Mariners got off to a slow start, falling to a seven point deficit in the first four minutes of the game. After some back-and-forth action, they managed to cut that lead to four at the end of the first quarter. Maine Maritime came out much stronger in the second quarter, knotting the game at 21 with a three from Evelyn Dagan (Castine, Maine) and taking a six point lead going into the half.

Maine Maritime came out on fire in the second half, outscoring the Wildcats 25-10 to take a 21 point lead. The Mariners continued to dominate in the fourth quarter, claiming a 79-60 win.
